Did Hughes' decision to support fighting in WWII come before or after the sudden switch by the Communists from peace to war? The article does not make it clear if he was just following the party line, or sincerely thought that segregation was not as bad as he had thought. More references to his own writings on the subject would be useful, as well.86.167.55.125 (talk)
I became a bit suspicious after reading the article on the composer Margaret Bonds, which has a whole section on her relationship with Langston Hughes, only to find that the article on him does not mention her once - another case of "mansplaining" history, perhaps? I don't know much about either, but it would appear that the creative friendship went both ways. Indeed, it seems he was "constantly sending Bonds lyrics he hoped she might set to music." Much of her music has been lost, but she is definitely being rediscovered as an important and popular composer, so the addition of a section here would surely be desirable, wouldn't it?
